In 2013 the season at the Dóm Square starts on July 5th with the operetta of Victor Jacobi entitled The Marriage Market (Leányvásár), which will be put on the stage as the own production of the festival. Similar to the highly successful Magnate Miska (Mágnás Miska) in 2012 this play also operates with the comic turn of disguise, however this time it is not the servant who becomes master but quite the contrary. Disguised as a dirty tramp Tom Migles wins the hand of the daughter of the opposing family, that of the haughty Lucy Harrison, who as a punishment is given in marriage to the last lad of the village. The piece will be included in the programme of the Open Air Festival in two other evenings after the first performance.
